How to connect to a server via IP address and port

If the server you want to join is not showing in the list of servers in the Server Browser screen, the host may only be allowing connections via LAN or Direct Connection. This article will show you how to connect to a server via Direct Connection.

To connect to a server you need to:

1. Click on the main menu drop down (accessible on any screen apart from the login)
   
2. Click on "Direct connect". This will open a small popup window that looks like this:
   
3. Enter the hosts IP address and port which they are running the server on.
4. If they have set a password enter it into the password field or leave empty if there is none.
5. Click on the join button. This should make the application join the server. If the details were not correct then you will stay on the current screen and an error message will show.

If you had logged in as a spectator, then only the "Join as spectator" button will show.
